Accidental Death & Dismemberment Benefit

When you join NCRGEA as a dues-paid member, you will be automatically covered by a $10,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Benefit.  This is one of your free benefits of NCRGEA membership.  The AD&D benefit covers only accidental death and dismemberment, not natural death.  You are covered by this policy as long as your membership dues are paid and current.

This is a blanket policy and does not require specific beneficiary designees.  If a member passes away due to an accident, the benefit is paid to the surviving spouse.  If there is no surviving spouse, the benefit is paid to living children.  If there are no living children, the benefit will be paid to the deceased retiree’s estate.

How to Notify NCRGEA:  Please contact NCRGEA to report a member’s death.  NCRGEA staff will inquire if the cause of death is due to accident or natural causes.  If by accident, the claim process will be initiated by NCRGEA staff.
